Important information about organizing SomYag Yajnya
Do you want to organize a SomYag Yajnya?
Do you want to organize a divine event?
Do you want to do an extraordinary work of God?
The Vedas are the fundamental scriptures of all creation. The Vedas contain complete knowledge to ensure the smooth functioning of the universe and the entire creation. They are the words of God, and therefore they are called impersonal. The knowledge of the Vedas is called Shruti. Sacrifices based on Shruti are called Shrauta yajna. Only the Agnihotri Brahmin has the right to perform this yajna, in whose house the lamp of Agni Narayan burns for 24 hours. Today, there are only 212 such Agnihotri Brahmin in the whole of India.
Yajna is an ancient science. Shrauta Yajnas were organized for the welfare of the world. The main objectives of Shrauta Yajna is to govern the cycle of creation and seasons, to provide abundant rainfall, increase in wealth and livestock, and ultimately to progressively add to human happiness. Shrauta sacrifices are performed to maintain mental, emotional and social peace, to purify the atmosphere and environment, to maintain the ozone level, to destroy harmful germs and viruses in the atmosphere.

Organizing the SomYag Yajnya according to the tradition that has been going on since the Vedic times and according to the Vedic rules, that is, according to the rules prescribed by the sruti, is a very extraordinary and divine act. Only if the virtue of birth and death is behind us, then the SomYag Yajnya can be organized by our hands. Organizing SomYag Yajnya is a great opportunity for all those who have faith in Sanatan Vedic Hindu Indian culture, who want to do some great divine work in their life and want to do welfare of the whole world along with us.
Bhishma Foundation has 4 to 5 teams of Brahma Vrinda ready to perform the SomYag. This means that in a year, 15 to 18 SomYagas in Uttarayana and four in Dakshinayana i.e. a total of at least 20 SomYagas can be organized. A team of Brahmavandas can perform 20 SomYagas in a year. Bhishma Foundation can organize at least 75 to 80 SomYagas in a planned manner in a year.
We appeal to more and more individuals and organizations to organize SomYag for the welfare of the whole world, for the welfare of all, for the happiness of all, and also for the welfare of themselves and their families in personal life. Bhishma Foundation is ready to provide all possible help in this regard.
The Bhishma School of Indian Knowledge System and the Vishwa Mandir Parishad look forward to extending all possible support and guidance to you. Vedic Yajmana for SomYag
SomYag Yajnya is performed according to the Vedic wisdom tradition that has been going on for thousands of years. The Vedas are called Śruti. That is why Shrauta Yajnya is the Yajnya performed according to the rules described in the Vedas i.e. the Srutis. The most important role in this Shrauta Yajnya is that of the Vedic yajnya. As per the Gurukul system in the traditional Veda Pathshala, a person who has imbibed Vedic knowledge i.e. knowledge of the Vedas and Yajnya and whose house is continuously lit with fire 24 hours a day and night, such a person can assume the Vedic Yajmana position of Shrauta Yajnua i.e. SomYag. In earlier times, thousands of SomYagas were performed every year in India and a large number of Vedic Yajmana were available at that time. The number of Vedic Yajmana dwindled as the yajnya tradition disappeared with the passage of time. Today, only 250 to 300 Vedic Yajmana are available in the entire country whose houses are lit by Agnihotra 24 hours a day.
There are generally three institutions of yajnya
1) Pakayajnya Institution: It has seven institutions like Aupasana Homa, Vaishwadev, Paarvana, Ashtakaashraddha, Masikshraddha, Shravanaakarma, Shoolgava etc.
2. Haviryajnya Institution: It consists of seven institution namely Agnidhana, Agnihotra, Darshapurnimaasa, Agrayana, Chaturmasya, Nirudha Pashubandha and Sautramani.
3) Somyajnya Institution: There are seven Somayojana institutions, namely, Agnishtoma, Attyagnishtoma, Ukthya, Shodashi, Vajpeya, Atiratra and Aptoryama.
In all these, soma is the predominant, that is, the main solvent. Juice from a special plant called Somvalli is extracted by plucking it three times a day in the morning, afternoon and night and offered that Somrasa to various deities in the fire. That is why it is called SomYag. In these yajnyas, the four Vedas are recited regularly. There are three earthen Mahavir Patras, in which cow ghee is boiled using Agni Mantra. And in that ghee, cow's milk and goat's milk are mixed, after which a 20-25 feet high divine flame is released towards the sky, which purifies the atmosphere.
Types of Somyajnya
Agnyastoma, Attyagnistoma, Ukthya, Shodashi, Atiratra and Abdoyarma are the six days of Somayaga.
A period of 12 days is required for the Vajpeya Soma Yaga.
